I wrote the other day about how sex selection among immigrant groups is affecting the population in Canada.

... there's enough pre-natal sex selection going on in that country these days to skew the demographics much like they skew in China and India.


There the issue is the aborting of female fetuses ... quite the dichotomy for pro-choice feminists with abortion on demand deemed a basic right, but to allow female infanticide? An amazingly tough call.

Getting to the root, however, is this article that tracks back to India.

According to the report, ten million girls have been killed by their parents there over the past twenty years ... 500,000 per year.

A UNICEF report out this week says there are 7,000 girls going missing per day in India ... 7,000 girl babies removed from the picture EVERY DAY than the global average would indicate should be there.

India's Minister for Women and Child Development, Renuka Chowdhury, says she's "shocked".

"Today, we have the odd distinction of having lost 10 million girl
children in the past 20 years," Chowdhury told a seminar at Delhi
University.

"Who has killed these girl children? Their own parents."

In some states, the minister said, newborn girls have been killed by pouring sand or tobacco juice into their mouths.

"The minute the child is born and she opens her mouth to cry, they put sand into her mouth and her nostrils so she chokes and dies," Chowdhury said ...
